ADD & ADHD
Pinnacle has helped hundreds of students that have struggled in traditional classrooms due to Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Symptoms of ADD/ADHD include inattention, impulsiveness and hyperactivity. Children with ADD/ADHD are often stigmatized or even bullied in school if their ADD/ADHD results in learning problems. A child exhibiting these behaviors is likely to disrupt a traditional classroom and ultimately fall behind socially and academically.
Pinnacle students find it easier to stay on task with the absence of school bells and background noise in the small classrooms. Individualized learning plans allows students to work at their own pace - providing them with a sense of independence and allowing them to "own" their progress.
Student counselors and nursing staff are on hand to help students with other conditions that often coexist with ADD or ADHD including learning difficulties, anxiety disorders, mood disorders and defiance.
Pinnacle students often express how they feel safe at our school. Providing a safe environment and professional one-on-one support allows students to concentrate on their school work during school hours.
